1st Day Manali (1,928 m) to Chhitra (2,960m)          ………13km

Situated on a long grassy bank, sloping down from the cliffs, it is an ideal to location for the end of the days march.
The impressive grandeur of immediate surroundings. The nearness of the Tokru –Shakru Peaks, the Wonderful colouring of rock and mountain side, the deep purple of early morning shade and the golden glories of the setting sun constitute this halting place.

2nd Day Chhika to Chhatru (3,360 m)                                   …….16km
Over Hamta pass at the height of 4268 meters in the Lahaul valley, Distance and massive mountains dominate and landscope there serrated peaks silhouetted against the deep blue horizon. Close views of deo Tibba and fabled Indrasen peaks.

3rd Day Chhatru to Chhota Drara (3,740 m)                        ……16km
A walk through the rugged valley.

4th Day Chhota Drara to Batal (3,960 m)                       ……..16km
Batal is situated at the foot of Kunzum pass which provides the main approach to Spiti from lahaul. The Panorama as viewed from the top of the pass is enthralling and inspiring. On the way is Bara Shhigri glaciers. Bara meaning big and Shhigri meaning glaciers in Lahaul dialect. The view of the Shhigri stream emerging from beneath a huge iridescent archway of the solid ice is a never- to be forgotten sight. Behind the height. The glaciers is mountainous mass of solid ice , more than a kilometer wide and extending over a distance of ten kilometer.

5th Day Batal to Chandratal (4,270 m)                        ………..18km
Chandratal means the lake of moon. This lake of exquisite beauty is set on a large  meadow  of  edelweiss between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range with an outlet into the Chandra river. A beautiful view of the Samudra tapoo glacier and of mulkila range is obtainable.

6th Day Chandratal to Tokpo Yongma (4,320 m)                    …..12km

7th Day Tokpo Yongma to congma (4,640 m)                        …11km


8th Day Tokpo Yongma to Baralacha (4,833 m)                                      ……..10km
Return via the same rout Chhatru involving Six Days .From Chhatru one can cross over the Kullu valley via the rotang pass in three days. The stages are given below.
